Open Positions Available for Various Dexter Township Boards and Committees – Monday, January 8, 2024 Deadline for Submissions

Individuals interested in applying for an open appointment should send a letter of interest and resume to Samantha Edwards, township office manager via email to officemanager@dextertownship.org or by mail to 6880 Dexter-Pinckney Rd., Dexter, MI 48130. Submittals must be received by 4:00 pm on January 8, 2024.  Resumes and letters received after January 8, 2024 at 4:00 pm will be kept on file for future consideration.

The open positions are: 

Farmland and Open Space Preservation Board (FOSP):

The Dexter Township Farmland and Open Space Preservation Board (FOSP Board) is seeking membership for a regular appointment. Specific objectives of the FOSP Board include acting as a conduit between Dexter Township residents and the Board of Trustees regarding community needs and expectations related to land preservation, advising the Township Board on land preservation policies and programs, exploring land preservation funding options, and supporting special projects and collaborations between landowners and available land preservation programs. The FOSP Board is a 3-year term and meets at Dexter Township Hall (6880 Dexter-Pickney Rd, Dexter) on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. Local Roads Committee:

The Dexter Township Local Roads Committee is seeking membership for a regular appointment. The Local Roads Committee focuses on road maintenance, infrastructure improvement, traffic management, and safety enhancements. The Local Roads Committee term is open-ended, and the committee meets at Dexter Township Hall (6880 Dexter-Pinckney Road, Dexter) the second Wednesday of each month at 9:00am. Multi-Lake Sewer Authority

The Multi-Lake Sewer Authority Board is seeking membership for a regular and alternate appointment. The regular appointment on the Multi-Lake Sewer Authority Board will be for a term of one year and the alternate appointment will be a term of four years. The board meets at the Multi-Lake Water and Sewer Authority building at 12088 N. Territorial Rd., Dexter, MI 48130 the third Thursday of the month at 10:30am. Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA):

The Dexter Township Zoning Board of Appeals is seeking membership for an alternate appointment. The Zoning Board of Appeals members hear and decide a variety of questions that arise in the administration of the zoning ordinance, including interpretation of the zoning text and maps, appeals of zoning decisions and variance requests. All members of the Zoning Board of Appeals must be qualified electors of Dexter Township. Criterion also includes representation of all interests in the township. The Zoning Board of Appeals meetings are held at Dexter Township Hall (6880 Dexter-Pinckney Roads, Dexter) once per month on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm.
