Dear Dexter Township Residents,
As you may have heard, there was a tragic incident in Rochester Hills over the weekend. The perpetrators gained entry into the home of a family posing as utility workers, wearing vests, sporting fake badges, and stating they were there for a gas leak. Please be aware that any employee or contractor of Consumers Energy will always wear a company identification badge, and will show it upon request. Consumers Energy will never utilize scare tactics or threaten to shut off your service if you don’t let them in, and they always provide advance notice if they need to get into your home.
