The Dexter Township Board will make and/or confirm appointments to various township boards at their December 21, 2021 and January 18, 2022 regular board meeting at 7:00 pm at Dexter Township Hall, 6880 Dexter-Pinckney Road, Dexter. Individuals interested in applying for any of the expiring or open appointments should send a letter of interest and resume to Diane Ratkovich, Township Supervisor via email to email@example.com or by mail to 6880 Dexter-Pinckney Rd., Dexter, MI 48130. Submittals must be received by 4:30 pm on December 10, 2021. Resumes and letters received after December 10, 2021 at 4:30 pm will be kept on file for future consideration. The open positions are:
1) Planning Commission (PC) – Available positions include two full-time appointments for three-year terms ending 12/31/2024. Candidates for the available appointments must be qualified electors of Dexter Township. Criterion for Planning Commission membership also includes representation of all interests in the township including agriculture, business, residential, lakes residential, recreation etc. The Planning Commission is responsible for making and adopting a basic plan to be used as a guide for the development of the township and for the evaluation and approval or denial of site plans for development in the township. The Planning Commission generally meets two times per month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
2) Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) – Available positions include two full-time appointments and one alternate appointment, all for three-year terms ending 12/31/2024. Zoning Board of Appeals members hear and decide a variety of questions that arise in the administration of the zoning ordinance, including interpretation of the zoning text and maps, appeals of zoning decisions and variance requests. All members of the Zoning Board of Appeals must be qualified electors of Dexter Township. Criterion also includes representation of all interests in the township. Zoning Board of Appeals meetings are held once per month on the 1st Tuesday of the month in the evening.
3) Chelsea Area Construction Agency (CACA) – One full-time and one alternate representative to the CACA Board. CACA is the agency that issues building permits in Dexter Township. Construction, building inspection or managerial experience is desired. The CACA Board meets monthly.
