The Planning and Zoning Department has begun an extensive review of old files.
We have discovered many zoning permits that the applicants never contacted the Township for inspections, which are necessary in order to issue a final certificate of zoning compliance. We will be proactively conducting site inspections to determine if work has been completed and document the improvements. If work has not begun and the zoning permit has expired, letters will be sent to the property owners, letting them know of the expiration.
We will also be revisiting properties that have had documented violations of the Zoning Ordinance or the Anti-Blight Ordinance that have not been resolved.
Staff wears a bright yellow vest that says "Dexter Township" across the back.
Staff does not generally knock on doors to introduce themselves when conducting an inspection, but feel free to stop them if you have any questions.
Please contact us during business hours if you have any questions.
